Tough Job in Paradise (Part 2)

Some of you may remember my post about the Hamilton Island caretaker job, on Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which was advertised last February. Beach-in-thailand

Well, the latest news is that the list of applicants has been whittled down to 16 and one of them is a thirty-four year old Brit from Hampshire.

Ben Southall will be flown out to the Whitsunday Islands next month where he will compete with 15 others over a four day selection process.

This really is a dream job and a great opportunity for someone.

It's a six month position that pays £70,000 plus expenses. And a rent-free villa to boot!

There were at least 34,000 applicants. Imagine having to trawl through them all. You would have to be pretty outstanding to get noticed!

Why not go over and look at Ben's one minute video pitch – it's terrific and I wish him the best of luck!

I'm off to the bookies now to see what odds I can get! Well, there's no harm in a little flutter is there?

  1. Impressive and all but couldn’t follow the video and never in a million years would I employ that chappie. Tastes are so strange and while I’m here how can I see the other comment as being a bit green and all have now acquired a nose and all and that’s not for wine.? Trust the flutter comes off.
